Mauricio Pochettino advices Players not to Focus on Arsenal

Tottenham must not focus on Arsenal in the final few matches of the season, according to manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs’ second position is under threat as a result of going three matches without a win. This would be a major setback for Tottenham after having been challenging for the title throughout the campaign. Mauricio Pochettino has undoubtedly made a lot of difference to the club, but he will feel disappointed with his team falling a whopping 10 points behind champions Leicester City. Spurs have been showing signs of pressure in recent weeks and they have been blown out of proportion following the loss against Southampton during the weekend.

Pochettino his players should only focus on their game and not about the result of their rivals. Even though there is little difference between finishing in second and third, this is a huge deal for the club after having been one of the best in the division throughout the campaign. Arsenal, meanwhile, have been extremely poor since the turn of the year, and it will feel like a major victory if they snatched the second spot. In terms of revenue, the differences between the two places are very minimal at around £ 2 million additionally earned for finishing in the second spot.

"I don't care about Arsenal. Sure I want to be above them, but this is normal. We need to concentrate on us and not what is happening with our neighbours. We did not lose the game today because of last Monday's result. We lost because we conceded two goals. We feel very disappointed, losing our last home game of the season. But we are still in a great position," saidPochettino. The remaining match for Tottenham is away against Newcastle United, who have just been relegated and massive protests are expected at St James’s Park during the game.
