Neymar tips Timothy Weah to become one of Europe’s best attackers

Brazil international and Paris Saint-Germain Neymar has backed Timothy Weah to make the best use of his loan stint with Celtic. The United States international managed just two league appearances with Les Parisiens during the first half of the season and this eventually urged him to secure a temporary move to Parkhead to enhance his development.

Speaking to The Daily Record, Neymar has acknowledged that Weah has made the right choice to head to the Scottish champions and believes the teenager has the attributes to become of Europe’s best attacking players, he said: “It is a very exciting move for him from what I have seen of his talent he has everything to go and be one of the top attacking players in Europe. It is a good move for him, a good move for Celtic as they are getting such a big talent, and also a good move for PSG because he has a chance to get experience and games and come back to us a more complete player.”

“Celtic were hampered during the first half of the campaign with the departure of Moussa Dembele“ and this had pretty much restricted them to one striker in Odsonne Edouard with Leigh Griffiths struggling with both fitness and mental issues. However, they are unlucky to suffer a similar predicament during the backend of the campaign, “given they have recruited“ Weah alongside Oliver Burke and VakounIssoufBayo to bolster the department.

The Hoops are currently occupying the top position in the Scottish Premiership with a better goal difference and game on hand over second-placed Rangers. Still, they cannot afford any complacency during the backend of the campaign, given Steven Gerrard’s team are likely to keep the pace with them after making quality signings of their own with Steven Davis and Jermaine Defoe joining them on temporary deals.
