Robben dismisses United link

Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben has dismissed rumours linking him with a possible move to the Premier League with Manchester United, with the Dutchman insisting he is settled and happy in Germany.

The appointment of Louis van Gaal as the United's new manager had led Betfair punters to believe Robben could be set to join his compatriot at Old Trafford next season, but the former Chelsea winger has made it clear he isn't looking to leave Bayern.


Gareth Bale is quite confident that his team Real Madrid would be able to go through to the semi final round of the ongoing UEFA Champions League.

In the return leg of their quarter final tie on Tuesday, Real will be up against Borussia Dortmund. They have won the first leg by 3-0. So, they are in a very good position, but, things can still turn around considering the players Borussia has got.

As the January transfer window recently opened, there has been increased speculation about the future of Manchester United's star Wayne Rooney, who is about to enter into the final year of his contract.

He was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer, but United blocked any possibility of the move happening on grounds that Chelsea were a direct rival. United also believed that they would be able to persuade Rooney to sign a new contract, as any club would be in a disadvantageous position to the player entered into the final year of his deal.


Landon Donovan’s international career is going through some tough times as his recent performances with USA have seen him playing below his usual standards. Playing poorly against Jamaica back in October and later being substituted during the match against Panama.

Things get worse for him as now he will be absent for his team’s matches for around a month due to an ankle injury.

“My aim is to take at least the next four weeks and probably six weeks and let the ankle heal and then get myself ready.” Donovan said.


Manchester United manager David Moyes has said that he expects Wayne Rooney to become one of the greatest players for Manchester United. The 27-year-old decided to stay at Old Trafford after revealing his desire to leave the club at the end of last season.

He had grown frustrated about life on the bench, while even if selected, he was played constantly out of position. Rooney has been at Old Trafford since 2004 after his £ 30 million transfer from Everton. Back then, he became the world's most expensive teenager. He has not disappointed, though, by managing to score a lot of goals.


Jose Mourinho is about to embark on his second spell in charge at Stamford Bridge and the Portuguese boss is already looking to challenge the Manchester clubs for the domestic title, as well as former club Real Madrid in Europe.


Chelsea manager José Mourinho has said that he is only interested in bringing Wayne Rooney to the club and not any other player before the end of the transfer window.

Chelsea recently made an official offer for the 27-year-old England international amidst a lot of speculation that the club would also offer Juan Mata and £ 10 million in cash. However, Mourinho has rejected the speculations by saying that Chelsea have made only a cash offer and it does not involve any player swapping at any stage in the negotiations.
