UCL: PSG SCORE FOUR WITHOUT NEYMAR

French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) ended their Champions League group stage campaign in an emphatic manner after the 4-1 home win over Belgian champions Club Brugge when the two teams met at the Parc des Princes in what was a Group A clash played on Tuesday night.

Brazilian superstar Neymar was a major absentee for PSG against Club Brugge, but they didn't miss the ex-Santos and Barcelona attacker too much. Without Neymar in the PSG squad, the French top flight league leaders scored four times and could have registered more goals.

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that summer signing Lionel Messi won't be available for the league game with Montpellier this weekend as he works his way back to full fitness after a bruised bone. Messi had suffered the injury in the slender 2-1 home win over Lyon thanks to the late goal from substitute Mauro Icardi.
Pochettino gave an update on the fitness of Messi for the Montpellier during his pre-match presser on Friday. The PSG boss would be hoping that his players can maintain their perfect start to the new league season when they take on Montpellier at home.

PSG made it seven wins from seven games in midweek courtesy the late goal from Moroccan international fullback Achraaf Hakimi off the assist from Neymar in the slim away win over Metz.

HOW NEYMAR PLAYED A PART IN RAMOS AND MESSI DEALS

Never would it have been thought of that French Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain would eventually be able to sign Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos but as a matter of fact, the club signed the two players in the same transfer window and the most shocking part of the two deals is that the two superstars were significantly signed for free. That, of course, goes on to further prove the saying that anything can happen in football. Another ironic fact about the two transfers is that both players were the captains of Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona; two of the biggest clubs in the world and of course, fierce rivals as well.

NEYMAR NAMED BEST PLAYER BY REYNA

Borussia Dortmund attacking player Giovanni Reyna is one of the best young prospects in the German Bundesliga. The American international has already established himself as a first team player at Dortmund. In a bid to underline his growing status in the first team at Borussia Dortmund, Reyna was given the number seven jersey vacated by England international Jadon Sancho following his return to English football.

Reyna will wear the number seven shirt at Dortmund in the new season after Sancho returned to the Premier League to sign for Manchester United in a £72.9m deal earlier this month.

COPA AMERICA: NEYMAR MAKES BEST TEAM

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star Neymar has been named as part of the best team for the just concluded Copa America tournament hosted in Brazil. Neymar made the 2021 Copa America best team alongside ex-Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi and two of his Brazilian national team colleagues.

The 2021 Copa America tournament ended on Saturday night at the iconic Stadio Maracana in Rio de Janeiro with Argentina lifting the trophy on offer following their 1-0 win over hosts Brazil in the final. The first half striker from PSG teammate Angel Di Maria was enough to leave Neymar empty handed at the end of the tournament on home soil. Di Maria scored the only goal of the game in the first half off the fantastic assist from new Atletico Madrid signing Rodrigo de Paul.

NEYMAR SCORES IN COPA AMERICA WIN

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) talisman Neymar continued his good form for Brazil in front of goal after he found the back of the net in the win over Venezuela at the start of the 2021 Copa America tournament on the Brazilian soil. Neymar scored one of the goals as Brazil trounced the Venezuelans 3-0 in the opening game of the Copa America tournament this summer.

Neymar has been in sensational form for Brazil this summer in both the World Cup qualifying series and the Copa America tournament till date. With his goal in the game against Venezuela, Neymar has now scored three goals in three games for Brazil since league football ended last month.
