The famed Paris Saint Germain (PSG) attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and KylianMbappeimpressed in the same game on the way to the 6-1 thumping of Clermont Foot in the French top flight. Neymar, Mbappe and Messi were in top form as they put hosts Clermont Foot to the sword in front of their home fans.

Neymar and Mbappe shared the goalscoring between each other meaning that they both scored three goals, while Messi registered three assists. Also, Mbappe was responsible for two assists during the game.

At the end of the league game at lowly Clermont Foot, Mbappe took his assist tally to 14, while Messi took his tally to 13 meaning that the two players are in the frame to match or beat the French Ligue 1 assist record currently held by Angel Di Maria (18 assists).
Mbappe has been the toast of the PSG fans for the majority of the season, while Messi and Neymar have both been able to prove their worth on the back of being booed by the PSG fans after the frustrating exit to Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League this season. PSG were in a good position to qualify for the quarterfinals until Frenchman Karim Benzema scored three goals in 17 minutes to win the tie for Real Madrid via a 3-2 aggregate victory.
In the first leg of their last 16 tie, Mbappe scored the winning goal for PSG in injury time for a 1-0 home win over Real Madrid, but it could have been more than a one-goal lead after Messi missed a second half penalty, while Mbappe and Neymar also missed chances to get on the scoresheeteaelirr than in injury time. In the second leg, Mbappe scored in the first half to put PSG 2-0 up in the tie before the Karim Benzema show blew the incoming French champions away in the second half.
