UNITED CHASE SNEIJDER AGAIN

Wesley Sneijder and Manchester United seems to be a never ending love story that just doesn’t want to go away.

With the arrival of January and the opportunity to sign players in the winter transfer window, the tabloids are again linking the 19 times English champions with a move for the talismanic Dutch midfielder, who is one of the favourites to be named as Player of the Tournament on the euro 2012 betting markets.

Sir Alex Ferguson has long been an admirer of the midfield superstar and moved for the player when he left Real Madrid to join Inter Milan in 2009 but that move did not materialize. Sneijder was linked with a move to United in the summer as well when several tabloids reported that the two clubs had agreed on a fee but the deal did not go through due to the player’s personal demands.

Although the Manchester United manager has ruled out making any signings during the January transfer window as he has never been a big buyer during the winter because of the lack of value, the rumors linking Sneijder with The Red Devils still manage to find some ground. According to the English tabloids, Inter Milan are ready to do business with the English giants if they offer anywhere around £ 25 million for The Netherlands international, which in turn they would use to fund their own bid for Manchester City contract rebel Carlos Tevez.

The midfield position at the English champions is a spot that has been hogging the spotlight for the last couple of years and many believe that Wesley Sneijder is the man to fill the void left by Paul Scholes after his retirement.

Although no official comment has been released by Manchester United confirming or denying the reports, this seems to be a transfer saga that will draw on till the close of the winter transfer window on the 31st of January.
